The entire composition is encircled by an outer ring of additional Chinese ideograms forming the mint, reign title, and denomination inscriptions. The legends collectively identify the issuing authority as the Peking Mint, the reign period as Guangxu, the cyclical year Gengzi (1900), and the weight denomination of 3.6 Candareens. The design is executed in high relief on a flat, unadorned field typical of pattern coinage of the period. |
