Yiannis Moralis (1916–2009) was one of the most significant Greek painters of the twentieth century, associated with the so-called Generation of the '30s that reshaped modern Greek art through engagement with both European modernism and Hellenic tradition. This coin was issued in the centenary year of his birth.
