| Aversbeschreibung | The obverse presents a central cross composed of microfilms — the medium through which the Chronicle of the Catholic Church in Lithuania was clandestinely disseminated. The four quadrants formed by the cross display, in traditional heraldic arrangement, the Vytis (the Lithuanian state coat of arms), the church of Simnas (birthplace of the Chronicle), and a scene depicting the hand-to-hand passing of the publication. At upper centre, a dove bearing the microfilm cross symbolises the Holy Spirit and the Chronicle's worldwide propagation. The legend LIETUVA, the date 2023, the denomination €5, and the Lithuanian Mint mark LMK are inscribed to the right of the composition. |
