Obverse description Against a deeply contrasted dark field, a large stylized depiction of a Fritillaria davisii bud and stem occupies the upper and central portion of the coin, rendered in high relief with delicate modelling of the drooping tepals and elongated lance-shaped leaf. In the lower left quadrant, the Greek state coat of arms — a shield bearing a cross, surrounded by a laurel wreath — is struck in relief. The circular legend ΕΛΛΗΝΙΚΗ ΔΗΜΟΚΡΑΤΙΑ arcs around the left and lower rim, while the denomination 5 ΕΥΡΩ appears in bold relief to the lower right of the field. The engraver's mark is present in the lower field.
