Additional information

Liechtenstein is not a European Union member and has never adopted the euro as legal tender, yet a complete set of euro-pattern coins was produced in 2005 for collector sale. These pieces have no monetary status whatsoever — they were issued purely as numismatic curiosities, capitalizing on the principality's geographic position within the Schengen Area and its use of the Swiss franc in daily commerce.

The 2005 set remains the only such issue; no subsequent specimen series followed.
