| Reverse description | The denomination '5 CENT' is displayed prominently in the central field, positioned to the left of a stylized design consisting of six horizontal lines, each terminating at the right with a five-pointed star. A balance scale motif surmounts the lines, referencing the reverse design concept associated with euro cent coinage. The multilingual trial inscriptions 'PROVE · PROV · MUSTER' appear in the lower field, confirming the piece's status as a pattern or test strike. |

| Additional information |
Latvia struck euro cent specimens in 2004 as part of its preparation for eventual eurozone accession, well before the country actually adopted the euro in 2014. The ten-year gap between these specimen strikes and actual circulation makes them strictly collector and institutional pieces — they were never legal tender and saw no monetary use whatsoever.
