The inscription is set in well-spaced Roman capitals with decorative stops between words, typical of humanist Renaissance medallic epigraphy. This reverse functions as a memorial epitaph to Louis II, who perished at the Battle of Mohács in 1526, and was struck under Ferdinand I as a retrospective commemorative piece. |
