Obverse description Bare-headed effigy of King George I facing right, rendered in high relief with fine neoclassical detailing characteristic of the Barre workshop. The king's hair is closely cropped and naturalistically modeled. The circular legend ΓΕΩΡΓΙΟΣ Α! ΒΑΣΙΛΕΥΣ ΤΩΝ ΕΛΛΗΝΩΝ (George I, King of the Greeks) runs along the upper periphery, with the engraver's signature ΒΑΡΡΕ Α (BARRE A) inscribed in the lower field beneath the portrait. The border is composed of a uniform beaded rim.
