Obverse description Portrait vignette of Georgios Stavros, founder of the National Bank of Greece, positioned at left within a guilloche underprint ground. The denomination numeral and text occupy the centre-right register, with the bank title rendered in Greek letterpress across the upper margin. The note is dated 24 March 1923 in the lower field.

Reverse description Intaglio medallion vignette of Alexander the Great in profile at centre, set against a rose-red guilloche ground. Large numeral denominators "5" flank the central vignette on either side, with the bank title inscribed in Greek across the upper register. The legend ΕΚΔΟΣΙΣ ΤΕΤΑΡΤΗ (Fourth Issue) runs along the lower portion of the note.
