Kinderdijk's 19 windmills, built in the 1740s to drain the Alblasserwaard polder, remain operational and were designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997. Palau has issued dozens of these topographic silver pieces under licensing arrangements that have no connection to the featured country — the Netherlands has no involvement in this coin's production or authorization.
