正面描述 The obverse depicts the official Seal of the Republic of the Marshall Islands in high relief at center, featuring a frigate bird with outstretched wings above a traditional Marshallese stick chart, flanked by a palm tree to the left and a traditional outrigger sailing canoe to the right, with a radiant sun in the upper field. Two crossed traditional implements appear behind the central motif. The design is enclosed within an ornamental chain border. The legend REPUBLIC OF THE MARSHALL ISLANDS arcs along the upper periphery, with the denomination $5 to the lower left and the date 1998 to the lower right, while the Marshallese national motto JEPILPILIN KE EJUKAAN appears along the lower arc. The word SEAL appears on a scroll at the base of the central device.

附加信息

The USS New Jersey (BB-62) holds the distinction of being the most decorated battleship in U.S. Navy history, earning battle stars across four conflicts — World War II, Korea, Vietnam, and Lebanon. The Marshall Islands operated an aggressive commemorative coin program throughout the 1990s, licensing American military and pop-culture subjects to generate government revenue, with most pieces struck by the British Royal Mint or its contractors and sold directly to collectors rather than circulated.

BB-62 was reactivated for the last time in 1982, decommissioned in 1991, and opened as a museum ship in Camden, New Jersey in 2001.
