| Reverse description | A highly detailed relief depiction of Mount Cook (Aoraki), New Zealand's highest peak, dominates the field, rendered with pronounced glacial striations and snow-capped summits. The legend MOUNTAINS & FLORA arcs along the upper periphery. The inscription MOUNT COOK / 3724 m appears in the lower-left field. A cluster of white-petalled, yellow-centred flowers — representing the Mount Cook lily (Ranunculus lyallii) — is shown in color relief in the lower-right field. The year 2016 is inscribed on a banner ribbon in the lower exergue. |

| Additional information |
Palau has issued commemorative silver dollars in themed series since the 1990s, often licensing natural and geographic subjects with no direct connection to the island nation. The Mount Cook issue fits squarely into this commercial minting pattern, produced for the collector market rather than any domestic monetary purpose — Palau's actual currency is the US dollar.
KM#525 was struck at a private European facility, almost certainly on contract.
