| 正面描述 | The upper field displays the official Montreal 1976 Summer Olympics logo — the stylized interlocked rings and flame motif — positioned to the upper left, accompanied by the bilingual legend 'Olympiade XXI Olympiad' to the right. The lower left field bears the inscriptions 'Montréal' and '1976'. A horizontal dividing line separates the upper inscription area from a bold geometric pattern in the lower field, consisting of converging diagonal and vertical lines radiating from a central vanishing point, evoking the perspective of a stadium or sports venue. The denomination '5 Dollars' appears in the lower portion of the field. |

The Montreal Olympics coinage was authorized under the Olympic Lottery and Coin Act of 1973, with the Royal Canadian Mint producing 28 silver denominations across four series between 1973 and 1976 — one of the largest commemorative programs any national mint had attempted to that point. The $5 face value was essentially nominal; the coins were sold at a premium from the start and saw virtually no circulation.
The .925 silver issues in the series drew most collector attention, leaving the lower-fineness billon pieces comparatively overlooked despite identical subject matter.
