5 Dollars - Leonard I U.S. TACMS

Hutt River Province, the micronation declared unilaterally by Leonard Casley in Western Australia in 1970 following a dispute with the state government over wheat production quotas, issued a series of coins commemorating American military hardware during the Gulf War period. The U.S. TACMS — the Army Tactical Missile System, then entering operational deployment — was an odd subject for a Western Australian wheat farmer's sovereign territory, but Hutt River leaned hard into novelty coinage as a revenue stream throughout the 1980s and 1990s.

Nickel silver was the material of choice for most of the province's higher-denomination issues. These pieces were never legal tender anywhere beyond Hutt River's self-declared borders.
