| Description du revers | The reverse presents a large, centrally positioned Hamsa hand rendered in high relief and richly colored in graduated hues of magenta, violet, and turquoise using applied color printing. The surface of the hand is covered with intricate henna-style arabesque and paisley ornamentation. At the center of the palm, a stylized lotus flower in relief surrounds a prominent all-seeing eye motif. The surrounding field is decorated with additional fine mandala and floral scroll patterns in uncolored silver relief. The date 2021 appears to the right within the field. |

Palau has operated a prolific commemorative coin program since the 1990s, licensing its sovereign issuing authority to foreign minting houses — primarily the Bavarian State Mint and later the Mint of Poland — to produce collector pieces that rarely if ever circulate within the island nation itself. The Hand of Hamsa issue is part of that commercial tradition, sold entirely to overseas collector markets.
The hamsa as an amulet predates both Islam and Judaism, with roots in the ancient Near East traceable to Phoenician and Punic use of the protective hand symbol.
