Obverse description The coat of arms of Quebec occupies the center, enclosed within a wreath of maple leaves, bearing the motto ribbon inscribed JE ME SOUVIENS below the shield. Guilloche rosettes with the numeral 5 appear at left and right, flanked by corner ornaments of maple leaf sprays. The title BANQUE SCOLAIRE is set in bold letterpress at the top, with the denomination CINQ repeated twice along the lower margin, all printed in orange on a yellow-orange ground.
