Tokelau's numismatic program is administered entirely by New Zealand, which has issued collector coinage on the territory's behalf since 1978. The islands themselves — three atolls with a combined land area under 12 square kilometers — have no mint, no banking infrastructure, and use the New Zealand dollar for all actual commerce.
