| Obverse description | Right-facing diademed and draped effigy of Queen Elizabeth II occupies the upper central field, rendered in high relief with fine detail to the hair and tiara, after the portrait by Ian Rank-Broadley whose initials IRB appear below the bust. The legend NIUE ELIZABETH II arcs along the upper left rim and FIVE DOLLARS along the upper right rim, with the date 2022 to the left and the fineness mark Ag 999 to the right of the portrait. The entire lower field is occupied by a richly detailed high-relief composition of lotus flowers, buds, and broad lily-pad leaves extending outward to the rim, framing the royal effigy within a naturalistic aquatic garden. The coin is struck in an antiqued finish, imparting a warm silver-grey patina that accentuates the sculptural depth of the design. The mint mark mw of the Mint of Poland appears within the lotus field. |
