Tokelau — three Pacific atolls with a combined land area under 12 square kilometers and a population below 1,500 — has no independent monetary system and uses the New Zealand dollar in daily life. Its numismatic program exists entirely as a revenue mechanism, licensing celebrity and pop-culture imagery for commemorative issues sold to collectors worldwide.
