| 表面の説明 | Right-facing diademed and draped effigy of Queen Elizabeth II after the portrait by Ian Rank-Broadley, whose initials 'IRB' appear below the truncation. The legend 'ELIZABETH II' arcs along the upper left rim and 'COOK ISLANDS' along the upper right rim, while the denomination '5 DOLLARS' is inscribed across the lower field. Cook Islands has operated as a prolific novelty bullion issuer since the 1970s, producing legal-tender coinage under New Zealand's currency framework while functioning almost entirely as a collectors' market vehicle. The King Cobra piece from 2011 falls squarely into a wave of shaped and colored silver issues produced during that period by the New Zealand Mint on behalf of the Cook Islands government — a commercial arrangement rather than a monetary one.
KM#1426 is one of dozens of near-identical $5 silver issues from this program sharing the same planchet specifications.
