His long flowing beard and fierce expression are rendered with exceptional sculptural depth against a textured field evoking rocky terrain. To the right, an elaborate circular decorative medallion of interlocking cloud and scroll motifs in the Chinese tradition frames a centrally set polished red Jasper inlay cabochon. The name 'Guan Yu' is inscribed in stylised Latin lettering along the upper field, and the head of a dragon is visible in the lower right field. |
