Reverse description The reverse presents a highly detailed, high-relief antiqued portrait of Guan Yu, the deified Chinese general of the Eastern Han dynasty, depicted in three-quarter view facing left, wearing ornate scale armour and a decorated warrior's helmet with flowing ribbons. His long flowing beard and fierce expression are rendered with exceptional sculptural depth against a textured field evoking rocky terrain. To the right, an elaborate circular decorative medallion of interlocking cloud and scroll motifs in the Chinese tradition frames a centrally set polished red Jasper inlay cabochon. The name 'Guan Yu' is inscribed in stylised Latin lettering along the upper field, and the head of a dragon is visible in the lower right field.
