| 背面描述 | A gold-plated caravel under full sail occupies the central field, set within a decorative compass rose rendered in gold against a blue enamelled background. The dates 1505 and 2005 appear to the left of the compass, commemorating the quincentennial of Bermuda's discovery. Bermuda's quincentennial commemorates the 1505 Portuguese landfall, likely by navigator João de Bermudez, though the island remained uninhabited until the English shipwreck of the Sea Venture in 1609 — an event that also, indirectly, gave Shakespeare material for The Tempest. The five-century span this coin marks encompasses Spanish neglect, English colonization, and the oldest continuously operating parliament in the Western Hemisphere outside Britain, established 1620.
KM#160 is a low-mintage commemorative with limited secondary market depth.
