The inscription 'ABA PANU' appears in two lines in the lower central field, with 'METEORITE 2022' along the lower rim. The geographic coordinates '8°16'55.83"N' and '3°34'1.72"E' are engraved along the upper rim, denoting the fall site in Oyo State, Nigeria. |

The Aba Panu meteorite fell near the village of Aba Panu in Oyo State, Nigeria, in March 2018 — witnessed fall, which means its provenance and classification as an L5 chondrite were established almost immediately after recovery. Witnessed falls are considerably rarer than finds, and the scientific documentation surrounding Aba Panu made it a frequent subject for collector coins within a few years of its fall.
