The effigy is rendered in high relief against a polished field, with fine detail in the hair and drapery at the truncation. A beaded border encircles the design. Two sunburst devices flank the base of the shield at either side. A scrolled ribbon below the shield bears the national motto in two lines. The denomination FIVE DOLLARS and the date 1971 arc along the upper periphery, while the motto EXPULSIS PIRATIS RESTITUTA COMMERCIA is inscribed on the scroll beneath the shield. |
