The legend REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA arcs along the upper periphery, with the date 2000 divided on either side of the shield and the denomination 5 DOLLARS at the base. A scroll across the upper portion of the arms reads THE LOVE OF LIBERTY BROUGHT US HERE, repeated as the national motto within the shield. The design is executed in milled relief within a beaded inner border and a reeded edge. |
