| 背面描述 | A dynamic high-relief scene in the central field depicts Civil Defence personnel engaged in emergency response operations against an urban skyline backdrop of stylised high-rise buildings. To the left, a helmeted civil defence officer and a colleague carry a casualty on a stretcher, while a second helmeted rescuer crouches in the foreground operating emergency equipment. To the right, a large stylised Civil Defence emblem — comprising an arrow-like symbol — rises prominently in the field. The legend 'CIVIL DEFENCE' arcs along the upper periphery in bold raised Latin letters, and the denomination '5 DOLLARS' is inscribed in large characters along the lower border. |

Issued to mark the 20th anniversary of the Singapore Civil Defence Force, which was formally established in 1971 as the country moved to build autonomous emergency and crisis infrastructure following British military withdrawal from the island. The SCDF's creation was part of a broader push toward self-reliance that defined Singapore's defence posture through the 1970s and 80s.
KM#86a denotes the silver proof version; a copper-nickel circulation strike (KM#86) was issued concurrently.
