| 正面描述 | The obverse features the national coat of arms of Liberia centrally placed within the puzzle-piece shaped field, depicting a sailing ship, a dove, and a plow above the motto ribbon, all enclosed within a beaded inner border. The circular legend 'REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA' arcs along the upper portion of the field, while the secondary motto 'THE LOVE OF LIBERTY BROUGHT US HERE' appears below the arms. The denomination '5 DOLLARS' is inscribed in the lower field, with the date '2007' flanking the central device. |

Liberia's Central Bank produced a sprawling series of religious-themed silver issues in the mid-2000s, largely marketed through the international coin trade rather than circulated domestically. The country was still rebuilding its financial infrastructure following the devastation of two civil wars — the second ending only in 2003 — making commemorative bullion an unlikely domestic priority. These pieces were effectively struck for the collector export market from the outset.
KM#847 is one of several apostle-specific releases within the Christ and the Apostles set. John — Ioannes in the Latin rendering used on this series — is among the more frequently issued subjects across Christian numismatic sets globally, which does nothing for secondary market premiums.
