Aanvullende informatie

Liberia's Central Bank produced a sprawling series of religious-themed silver issues in the mid-2000s, largely marketed through the international coin trade rather than circulated domestically. The country was still rebuilding its financial infrastructure following the devastation of two civil wars — the second ending only in 2003 — making commemorative bullion an unlikely domestic priority. These pieces were effectively struck for the collector export market from the outset.

KM#847 is one of several apostle-specific releases within the Christ and the Apostles set. John — Ioannes in the Latin rendering used on this series — is among the more frequently issued subjects across Christian numismatic sets globally, which does nothing for secondary market premiums.
