| Mô tả mặt sau | High-relief depiction of a sohei (Japanese warrior monk) in a dynamic combat stance, clad in flowing dark robes and wielding a naginata (pole weapon with a curved blade) with both hands. The shaven-headed figure is rendered with exceptional sculptural detail, positioned against a large coloured orange solar disc occupying the central background. Japanese pagodas, pine trees rendered in relief, rocky outcroppings, and a mountainous landscape populate the background field, evoking a classical East Asian scenic composition. The two-character Chinese legend 僧兵 (sōhei, meaning warrior monk) appears in the upper right field. Selective gold and blue colouring accentuates the naginata shaft, blade guard, and the monk's robes, while the antiqued silver finish enhances the depth of the high-relief engraving throughout. |
