| 背面描述 | The bimetallic reverse features a densely composed cluster of tropical flowers and foliage rendered across both the copper-plated steel centre and the nickel-plated steel ring, with the central blossoms occupying the gold-toned inner disc and leafy sprays extending into the outer ring. Bonaire formally adopted the US dollar as its official currency on January 1, 2011, following the dissolution of the Netherlands Antilles on October 10, 2010 — a political restructuring that made Bonaire a special municipality of the Netherlands rather than part of an autonomous country. This coin was issued in that inaugural year of dollarization, yet denominated in a currency unit the island does not otherwise use in paper form.
The X# prefix in standard references places it outside regular coinage — catalogued among trade, local, and necessity issues. Whether it saw meaningful circulation is questionable given the simultaneous adoption of US dollar coinage already in pocket.
