Arabic legends appear along the upper right and left periphery, reading the country name and the king's name. The engraver's signature, G. | Reverse description | Central device features the Royal Arms of the Kingdom of Morocco: a shield bearing a green pentagram on a red field, surmounted by a royal crown and flanked by two rampant lions supporting the escutcheon. A ribbon at the base bears the royal motto in Arabic. The Gregorian year 1965 and the Hijri year 1384 are inscribed in the upper field to the left and right respectively. The denomination, five dirhams expressed as the numeral 5 flanked by the Arabic word for five (خمسة) and the word for dirhams (دراهم), is prominently displayed in the lower field, with the essai (trial) designation (تجربة) above.
