The 1950 Yugoslav series was prepared in anticipation of a currency reform that would have replaced the existing dinar issues, but the political rupture with the Soviet Union following the Cominform resolution of 1948 — the "Informbiro" crisis — threw Yugoslav economic planning into extended uncertainty. These notes were printed, never released, and the designation "Informbiro" attached to the series reflects the period of ideological isolation during which they were produced and ultimately shelved.
ZIN-printed remainders of this type occasionally surface intact, the unissued status confirmed by the absence of any serial numbering on most surviving examples.
