| Obverse description | The obverse is dominated by a central oval vignette bearing an intaglio portrait of Dr. Sun Yat-sen in military uniform, surrounded by elaborate guilloche rosettes and cloud-scroll ornaments at each corner. The bank title 海南銀行 is inscribed in large Chinese characters along the top margin, with the denomination 伍角 repeated in bold characters to either side of the portrait. Two red seal stamps flank the lower portion of the vignette, with the date and printer's imprint rendered in small characters along the bottom margin. |
