The Bank of Eastern Chekiang was a short-lived regional institution operating in what is now Zhejiang Province during the final years of the Second Sino-Japanese War. This 1945 issue came at an extraordinarily turbulent moment — Japanese forces had occupied much of the region, and local banking infrastructure was fragmented between collaborationist, Nationalist, and Communist-aligned institutions competing to maintain monetary authority over the same territory.
