正面描述	Green print on a guilloche-patterned border. A vignette at left centre shows the Zhengyangmen (Qianmen) city fortress gate tower in Peking, rendered in fine line engraving. The bank name in Chinese characters (冀南銀行) appears at upper right within the design, with the denomination 伍角 in a central cartouche; the date inscription 中華民國二十八年印 runs along the lower margin. A red serial number prefix and numeral appear at upper left.

背面描述	Brown letterpress print with elaborate guilloche scrollwork filling the entire field. A central oval vignette contains a landscape scene with mountains and water. The denomination is repeated in large numerals and text at left and right — "50 CENTS" — within ornate cartouches, with "BANK OF CHINAN" arched across the top and "FIFTY CENTS" in bold lettering below the central vignette. The year "1939" appears at the foot of the design. Two signature facsimiles are present in the lower corners.
