Obverse description Right-facing bare-headed effigy of King George V, rendered in high relief in the style of the original 1935 coinage design by Sir Edgar Bertram MacKennal. The portrait is contained within a beaded inner border, with the circular legend reading GEORGIVS V DEI GRA REX ET IND:IMP: distributed around the periphery of the field. The fine detailing of the King's facial features, collar, and robes is characteristic of MacKennal's classical engraving technique.
