附加信息	Edward VIII abdicated in December 1936 before a single coin bearing his effigy entered general circulation anywhere in the British Empire. The East Africa Currency Board had already prepared dies and authorized production, making this one of the very few Edward VIII issues that actually reached the striking stage. Most were melted; surviving examples derive almost entirely from sets preserved by mint officials or through official channels rather than from any commercial release.
