Descrizione del rovescio	Two pairs of curved elephant tusks sweep symmetrically around the central circular hole, their tips meeting above and their bases converging below, framing the hole in an elegant crescent arrangement. The numeral 5 appears in the upper field between the tusk tips above the hole. The legend EAST AFRICA arcs along the upper periphery, and the date 1936 is inscribed in the lower field below the tusks. Small lozenge-shaped ornaments appear at the lower left and right, separating the legend from the date. The whole is enclosed within a toothed border and a plain raised rim.

Informazioni aggiuntive	Edward VIII abdicated in December 1936 before a single coin bearing his effigy entered general circulation anywhere in the British Empire. The East Africa Currency Board had already prepared dies and authorized production, making this one of the very few Edward VIII issues that actually reached the striking stage. Most were melted; surviving examples derive almost entirely from sets preserved by mint officials or through official channels rather than from any commercial release.
