| Reverse description | The denomination '5' appears in large numerals at the centre of the field, with 'CENTS' inscribed below in bold capital letters, the two together forming the face value. The central inscription is framed by a symmetrical wreath of laurel branches tied at the base with a ribbon bow, from which the mint mark 'H' (for Heaton, Birmingham Mint) is visible just above the date. The year of issue is inscribed at the bottom of the field below the wreath. The whole design is contained within a beaded border. |
