| 正面描述 | Bare-headed bust of Prince Honoré V facing left, rendered in fine relief with carefully engraved hair and a short beard, in the neoclassical portrait style characteristic of Émile Rogat. The circumferential legend reads HONORE V PRINCE DE MONACO, disposed around the effigy. The engraver's signature E. ROGAT appears in small capitals below the truncation. The coin is bordered by a continuous inner ring of beading. |

Honoré V ruled Monaco under perpetual financial strain, having inherited a principality nearly bankrupted by the loss of Menton and Roquebrune — towns that would formally secede in 1848 and eventually pass to France. This 1838 essai was part of a proposed coinage reform that never reached full production, leaving trial pieces as the only material evidence of the attempt.
Gad#MC110 is among the rarest Monaco copper essais catalogued by Gadoury.
