| Descrizione del dritto | Printed in dark green on plain paper, the vignette occupies the full face and reproduces a Romanesque arcade of three ornately carved arches, each opening onto a view of the city of Coimbra, closely referencing the cloister arcading of the Old Cathedral (Sé Velha). Denomination numerals '5' appear in circular cartouches above the lateral arches, while a decorative frieze of stylized foliage runs along the upper and lower borders. The issuer's name is inscribed in a plain letterpress band at the top, and the denomination legend appears in a matching band at the foot. |

A large central circular guilloche medallion encloses the municipal coat of arms of Coimbra, surmounted by a mural crown and surrounded by a wreath, with supportive heraldic figures. Two smaller circular cartouches at left and right each bear the denomination '5 Centavos'. The date '1921' is set in letterpress across the top border within the decorative frieze. |
