These four pieces are pattern issues, not circulation strikes — proposed 5 centavos designs submitted during a period when the Dominican Republic was actively evaluating coinage reforms. The "Pn" prefix in the KM references confirms pattern status. Silver at this weight and diameter was never adopted for the denomination in circulation coinage of this era; the circulating 5 centavos had long since moved to base metal. Patterns in 0.900 silver from this period were almost certainly produced for official approval or archival purposes rather than public release, and surviving examples are correspondingly rare.
