| Obverse description | The Dominican Republic national coat of arms occupies the central field, depicting a quartered shield bearing a Bible, a cross, and trophies of lances and flags, flanked on the left by an olive branch and on the right by a palm frond. A ribbon above the shield carries the national motto in three segments, and a further ribbon below bears the country name. The entire device is rendered in high relief with fine detail consistent with the engraving style attributed to Casimiro Nemesio de Moya. The coin field is bordered by a beaded inner rim. |
