| Obverse description | The obverse is printed in brown on cream paper and enclosed within a decorative typeset border. The upper register carries the inscription FIVE CENTAVOS flanking a Series 1943 legend, below which a text block certifies that the Commonwealth Government of the Philippines will redeem the certificate at face value upon termination of emergency. The central vignette area bears the large denomination text FIVE CENTAVOS above the issuer title MINDANAO EMERGENCY CURRENCY BOARD, with the chairman and members' names printed to the right alongside a panel number and a five-digit serial number. |
