Obverse description	Green and brown note with guilloche underprint throughout. At left, a circular vignette bears the large numeral '5' above 'CENTAVOS'; at right, an octagonal medallion displays the Portuguese coat of arms within a wreath. The central panel carries the inscriptions 'CINCO CENTAVOS' in a rectangular cartouche and 'MOEDA CORRENTE' below, with 'S. TIAGO' overprinted in red above. A circular intaglio seal of the Banco Nacional Ultramarino — Colónias, Commercio e Agricultura — is stamped in red at centre-bottom, flanked by serial number '0.385.888' printed in red. The date 'Lisboa, 5 de Novembro de 1914' and two manuscript signature lines appear at the lower portion of the note.
