| Obverse description | Intaglio portrait of Dr. James Amman Kwegyir Aggrey in three-quarter facing bust occupies the right portion of the note, his name and life dates (1875–1927) printed vertically along the right margin. At centre, a multicolour underprint vignette of the Bank of Ghana headquarters building is overlaid with a vertical strip of electrotype numerals and stars. The Ghanaian coat of arms with the motto FREEDOM AND JUSTICE appears at lower centre beneath the Governor's facsimile signature and the date 4th August 2017, flanked by the denomination numeral GH¢5 rendered in large intaglio figures at upper left and lower right. |
