| 正面描述 | Central design features the national emblem of Oman — two crossed khanjar daggers overlaid with a belt and two crossed swords — rendered in fine relief against a polished field. The denomination '5 BAISA' appears to the left and '٥ بيسة' in Arabic to the right of the emblem. The legend 'SULTANATE OF OMAN' is inscribed along the lower border in Latin script, while 'سلطنة عُمان' appears in Arabic along the upper border. The Hijri year '١٤٣٧' and Gregorian year '2015' are positioned above and below the central device respectively. The entire design is enclosed within a decorative beaded border running along the coin's rim. |

Oman's National Day coinage marks the anniversary of Sultan Qaboos bin Said's accession on July 23, 1970, when he deposed his father Said bin Taimur in a palace coup backed by the British. The 45th anniversary issue in this series reflects a reign that, by 2015, had transformed one of the most isolated states in the Arab world into a functioning modern economy — largely on Qaboos's personal authority, as he simultaneously held the portfolios of Prime Minister, Finance Minister, Foreign Minister, and Defence Minister for much of his rule.
