| Obverse description | Printed in violet on cream paper, the obverse is dominated by a central rectangular vignette with an Art Nouveau-style underprint of stylised floral and foliate scrollwork, within which the denomination "Fünf Millionen Mark" is set in bold letterpress type. Below the denomination, a three-line text names the Kreiskommunalkasse and the Amts-, Gemeinde- und Sparkassen des Landkreises Bochum as payers, followed by the issue date "Bochum, den 16. August 1923" and the issuing authority.
