| Obverse description | Dark brown letterpress on pink-tinted paper, with a bold central text block reading 'FÜNF MILLIONEN MARK' in large Gothic typeface enclosed within a diamond-shaped geometric frame formed by arrow-like diagonal bands bearing repeated 'STADT DÜSSELDORF' and 'FÜNF MILLIONEN MARK' inscriptions. The vertical side panels carry the denomination '5000000 MARK' in tall vertical lettering, while the four corner spaces are filled with stylised radiating arrow ornaments. A six-digit serial number and a three-line redemption notice in Kurrent script appear at the lower centre, dated 21 August 1923 and signed by the Oberbürgermeister. |
